Driving from Raleigh and points East

Take I-40 West toward Durham. Watch for signs to Exit 279B (this is more like a major split in the highway than a regular exit). Take Exit 279B (NC 147 North/Durham Freeway) into the city. After going through downtown Durham, exit at Duke St. (12 C) (it is a one way road, so you only have one choice). Follow Duke St. through 4 traffic lights. About 0.1 mile after the fourth light, take a right onto W. Corporation St. (this is not at a light). You will reach a stop sign at Washington Street. The old Durham Athletic Park will be on the corner. Durham Central Park is bounded by Roney Street, Corporation Street, Hunt Street, and Rigsbee Avenue.

Driving from Chapel Hill and points South

Take US 15-501 north toward Durham. After going through an intersection with Garrett Road, look for a fork in the highway, and take the 15-501 Bypass toward Duke University. Take this to 147 South, the Durham Freeway. Exit at Chapel Hill Street and take a left at the light at the end of the ramp. At the second light, take a left onto Duke Street. Follow Duke St. through a few lights. About 0.2 miles after the light at Main St., take a right onto W. Corporation St. (this is not at a light). You will reach a stop sign at Washington Street. Driving from Greensboro and points West

Take I-85 North into Durham. Take 147 South (The Durham Freeway). Exit at Chapel Hill Street and take a left at the light at the end of the ramp. At the second light, take a left onto Duke Street.
